Attendees will learn how to make audio narrated power points using Jing and Screen-Cast-Omatic. This has a multitude of uses, from being able to give lectures online, to creating how-to videos, such as showing students how to find articles for a paper. This will allow professors to create a more personalized online presence to improve student retention and performance. 60 min.

Gaining our students' full attention in the digital world is challenging. Find out how we can leverage OERs to move beyond traditional course resources (books, articles, videos, etc…) and enhance our courses. This session will focus on finding, choosing, and using interactive open educational resources in order to gain our students' full attention. These resources allow us to further engage our students with hypermedia, decision-making activities, and learner assessment/feedback tools. Learn how to convert current queries saved on your PC as .wis files to the Savedlist Creation (SLCR) form. Learn how to export your savedlist data into Excel using FLDL (Colleague File Export) without having to use Query Builder. We will also discuss creating Savedlists using other tools such as Rules Savedlist Processing (RLPC) and Savedlist Edit Contents (SLED). A small quiz will be given to assess learning.90 min

After obtaining a basic understanding of screencasting in Part I, attendees should have material to create a screencast with Screen-cast-O-Matic in this workshop.
