Everyone (make) mistakes. How can we (learn) anything if we (be) always right? Recently, I (make) a traffic mistake while (drive) through Leonia. It (be) the biggest mistake I (make) within this past year because I (can) lose my driver's license.

It (be) 9:40 am, and I (have) to be at work at 10:00, so I was in a hurry! I (drive) to Bergen Boulevard and (see) there (be) a traffic jam, so I (make) a right turn. Then I (follow) Main Streest to the bottom of a hill and (turn) right onto Broad Street. That's where I (make) my mistake. Broad Street (go) straight to Route 4, so I (speed) past a school and (not, see) a police car (wait) there. I (be) immediately (pull) over. I (take) out my driver's license from my wallet. The officer (not, be) happy. He (proceed) to yell at me. "Do you think this is a racetrack?" "No," I (say). "Officer, what I (do) wrong?" The officer (say), "You (speed)!" "Please (wait) here." Before I could protest, the officer (walk) back to his patrol car. I (hope) that he wouldn't write me a ticket. Unfortunately, after 5 minutes, he (come) back with a piece of paper in his hand. He (give) me a 4 point speeding ticket for driving 50 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. He (tell) me that I already (have) 8 points on my license, and now I will have 12 points. I (go) to try to reduce the points by (go) to court, but I (not, think) that I (have) my license for much longer.
